Could it be the new images causing my app to crash?

It has been a while since I last tested my app on phone, so in the meantime I have changed my old images (sprites) with new ones. Previewing the app in browser goes well, but now when I test it on phone it crashes a few seconds after starting...

What is the size of the new images? if they are to big it might cause problems on the phone.

The biggest of all is 2000x1000px 1,4MB

yeah 2000x1000 px is probably to large for mobile to handle, change the image with a smaller one and test if its crashing.

I have rescaled this 2000x1000px image to 1000x500 and this time it had no problems showing this image at the start, but later it started crashing again.
Could you please tell me the maximum size a mobile can support?
It will lose the quality if I make it smaller.........

Well it all depends on what mobile device are you using. You will have to figure it out, keep reducing the size of the image until it stops crashing. The smaller the smother the performance will be.
