Create a smooth 8-directional animation system

Get help using Construct 2

So I've got the basics down but, I'm having a few problems I can't figure out. I need the player to animate walking left or right when walking diagonally, but the current event just makes it change and not animate though I handled it like the other animations that worked. My other issue is that pressing s and a doesn't change it to the animation I told it to. Final problem is that if I am moving left or right and tap w or s it stops playing the animation. If some of you could go in and check my event sheet it'f be great, thanks!

*edit* I downloaded your capx and took a quick look and it looks like you are over-thinking it quite a bit. Stuff you are compensating for, Construct 2 will do automatically.Julmust2012-08-09 01:57:38

It seems to work pretty well thanks! But how do I handle player collisions now?

Edit: One static collision box from the invisible controller is fine, but it is rectangular and when it turns it messes up the collision, how can make the collision box not turn with the image or fix this?Draspur2012-08-09 23:17:50
