Creating a wall jump with variations

For questions about using Classic.

Post » Mon Oct 31, 2011 4:08 am

I am trying to create a wall jump that changes how high and how far the player sprite travels in mid air depending upon on how long the jump button is held.

- similar to super meat boy. where if you hold the jump button when wall jumping you travel higher and farther away.

I have used the search engine and have not found a topic based on variations of controlled wall jumps.

Can someone please help me?

Try to do something like on key holded, +1 to variable every 100ms and then compare the variable to set further travel in air

or I dont get it?

If the up key is not pressed (negate the event) and the y velocity is below zero you should increase the y velocity. That's a simple and common solution, although i cannot check your file to see if it fits.

Oh, and one more thing. Fix your .cap file, because I can't open it due to missing plugin or something?

I worked on my new cap. I don't think I understand how to implement this feature. Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong?

Here is my new cap:

If it doesn't work can you please tell me what is causing an issue.

Thanks.
