Crosswalk Performance Mega-thread

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

A patch has landed in Crosswalk 15 (not yet released) - https://github.com/crosswalk-project/cr ... 085fb069e8

They are backporting it to CW 14 at some point. Our team is trying to schedule meetings to see everything involved so we can get this to developers ASAP.

CW 15? Really?

-CW 13 (13.42.319.11) has been the latest stable version almost 1 month. We can't use CW 13 with Intel XDK and we are talking about CW 15?

-We can't even build with the stable version of CW 12 using Intel XDX because it's still using a BETA version (12.41.296.4) of CW 12

Well, I truly hope we can get a quicker release system, please
The last versions are out but we can't use them

CW 15 is not yet released, AFAIK it's stable release is scheduled to mid-end of july, so maybe something will happen before the release. I remember someone from intel team was talking about a command line interface that will let us choose any crosswalk version without it's blessing by intel.

I'm not sure that the visual studio is better than xdk, yes you can use any crosswalk version, but what about cordova plugins, app icons, splashscreens? Any crosswalk version is cool indeed, but almost for everyone here, it's useless without a possibility to have iap's or admob.

Visual Studio 2015 will include a new product: "Visual Studio Tools for Apache Cordova"
https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/features/cordova-vs.aspx

Don't get me wrong, Intel XDK do the job, but it's not as complete as Visual Studio

You will be able to use any crosswalk version, plugins, etc...
Visual Studio 2015 will be released later this year and to said the true it's in every way a more complete IDE than Intel XDK

Hmm, looking good, maybe someone will give it a try, there's a release candidate version available to download.

@Iolva

Interesting, VS is a very mature piece of software. Looking forward to giving this a try...maybe later tonight. ;)
