DX10 wouldn't bring much advantage anyway. The soft particles i've seen can be done already by blurring. It's just hype.

Well Vista/Win7 doesnt have any dx so you need to install both DX9/DX10 to get all the stuff working.

I think having the created installer also run the web-installer would be enough. Most games do that.
Don't even ask, as the installer will check versions and skip if unneeded.

Vista comes with DX10 and 7 comes with DX11. :? You don't have to install anything.

Still have to install the optional DX9 libraries which aren't included in Vista/7. But the installer takes care of that - if you click 'yes' on DX9 installer popup as well as VC2005 redistributable.

It's a shame that MS won't at least bundle the latest DX 9 dlls with 7.. I don't see why not.

DX9 games work fine in DX10 and DX11. You just have to download the missing optional libraries, that is all.
