Double Jump animation

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Jan 20, 2014 11:14 am

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a double jumping character. Have used the excellent tutorial provided by BluePhaze.

The mechanics are working spot on but now I want to add animations. However, when I add my double jump animation in, the game only seems to play the single jump animation, regardless.

Is there a tried and tested way to do this?

add an event:
system compare two values jumpfase = 1
trigger once
- player set animation : doublejump
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

Copie from one of my games:

+ On press Space
++ player is jumping
-- jump
-- set animation doublejump
++ else
-- jump
-- set animation normaljump

EDIT: I've cracked it. Thanks for your help!

Cheers guys,

Definitely getting there.

Now I have a new problem.

I'm using a wall jump in my game so once the double jump animation has played it will then play for all wall jumps from then on.

I tried using the Else idea but the system wouldn't let me add an else there. Maybe I'm getting the structure wrong?

On the other solution, how do I add an "run once" to something?

Thanks!almostnot2014-01-21 08:39:50

@almostnot for doublejump you can also use the Behavior: Platform +.

Glad the tutorial worked for you! If you have any questions about wall jump, wall slide/grip let me know as well!

Hey man,

Yeah! Thanks again for the tutorial. Worked really well.

I've made my own version of a wall slide/grip but would be great to see your solution if you have one.

Hoping to have something that at least resembles a game in not too long.
