draggable text box

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 9:04 pm

I am having a problem getting my text box to drag and drop. I have the behaveor set to drag and drop however when I preview I can only type text into the box. It will not drag.

I have searched the form and could not find anything covering this problem.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

thanks

Yep, tried it, not sure how you can grab it. You could work around by attaching it to a sprite, and using the sprite as a handle, like this

.

Yes, I arrived at the same solution, using a text object as the handle. The text box object can be dragged and dropped by itself if it is disabled, but then you have the problem of toggling it to the enabled state in order to allow the user to write in it. Seems easier to pin it to some other object that has the drag/drop behavoir.jimand2012-05-19 02:45:38

Yeah, I've pinned the text input to another object in a project of my own. There's not really a feasible way, in C2 or otherwise, to drag and drop a text input, given the way a text input works.
