Draw Calls on the Smartphone

Get help using Construct 2

I created this little example in anticipation of creating a game for smartphones. According to the debugger all values are normal but when exported to the phone the fps drop. I have come to the conclusion that the cause may be the Draw Calls caused by the effects.

My question is: can 5% of Draw Calls ruin the performance of the game? There is a solution or should I give up?

You should never give up. There is always a solution, it just depends on how much refuse you have to pick through to find the jewel that is your answer.

@gumshoe2029 This is true, but if you see the capx you will notice that those few events are ok and I spent 3 days to figure out where I'm wrong.

If the problem is that the phones can not handle the effect, the only way is sadly give up.

low resolution is best bet to reduce drawcalls and fillrates

5% draw calls is pretty low. If the overall CPU usage is low and the framerate is still dropping, it's probably limited by the GPU.

@Ashley So my phone cannot handle.. this? I do not know what is the problem exactly. I tested it on Xperia Z2 and Note 3, both recent device.

I have a similar % of draw calls in my game when testing on desktop, and my game runs smoothly on mobile. I havn't checked the debugger on the phone using network preview to see what the numbers are. Have you tried testing in other browsers, or on other devices?

@tunepunk When I try it on Chrome the draw calls is about 5%, but when I try it on Internet Explorer is even about 40/50%!

Can be this a problem?

Well no reply? What should I do? It's something really very simple, but technically there is something wrong and not in the event sheet. It could be a bug Construct?
