Hey guys,

I was never a big fan of Flappy Bird clones but I saw the new The Hunger Games movie and needed to create this parody about it. :D

Image

Here you can watch it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HKdjoiLG68

Here you can play it in a webbrowser: https://burpsgames.com/games/drinkingjay/

Here you can play it on Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.burpsgames.drinkingjay

Here are also some background information:
- I created this game in about 20h. (5h drawing, 6h coding, 4h bugfixing+testing, 4h App store preparation, 1h video).
- I used the construct2 flappy template to start but changed it a lot to have a flexible layout and to be able to have the parallax (world is not generated, it is a huge layout).
- I created it via crosswalk including admob, game service and powermanagement plugins so it is able to show fullscreen ads sometimes and it has google play games achievements and a leaderboard. (thx to cranberry ;) )

I don't have the best drawing skills but I am quite happy with the result and I am impressed myself how quickly everything was developed. That's why I love C2 ;)

It is nice but also proves tha Crosswalk still sucks. My phone has over 26.000 points in Antutu and your game is jerking :)

So again thanks for @Ludei that there is at least 1 reasonable option for Android.

@szymek What phone do you have? I tested it on many devices and it works well on those.

@szymek Thx for letting me know. Sounds like a nice phone. Maybe I will get one myself ;-) Did you test any other crosswalk apps on it? Did you notice the same jerkiness with those?

@MACPK
How did you get it on the app store? I heard that Google and Apple put a ban on all Flappy Bird clones.
The moderators are corrupt and ban for no reason, especially that condescending neckbeard asshole Kyatric. The forums are filled with fanboys.

@szymek In that case you can check out my other app I updated to crosswalk: Barff - Brain Training :-)

@Nesteris I just submitted it. I am still waiting for iOS. I would guess they only ban apps that try to take advantage of the brand. So apps with a "flappy" in it. I dont think they ban you for having the same game concept. That would mean "Clash of Clans" and "Dungeon Keeper" should have a problem too but it is ok. I will let you know if the app gets any restrictions.

I've tested the game, I saw no performance issues here. I'm playing on a Galaxy S4. The graphics are good, it looks clean and plays well. Good job!

The only thing I would say is maybe increase the gap between the pipes as it became frustrating for me at times. The bird sprite as you flap upwards is quite large to fit through the gap without colliding.
