In fact you must assemble 2 cube or 3. One with x face the other with y face and the other one with z Face. When the position of
all cubes are same you have 1 cube with 3 different face. Hope this will help..

I'm having a problem here. I copied the events and effect parameters from your latest example, but I get messed up graphics.

in normal 2D it looks like this

But with the effect enabled, it looks like...

Don't mind about collisions, I was just trying to set the parameters for the cube effect but I don't seem to get it right...

The NW.js preview looks similar or worse

I found the source of the problem. The effect only works on sprites, and I was using tiled backgrounds.

Man, thank you!! This is something I've been waiting for so long....I didn't tried it yet, since I'm at work, but I think this one will give my top-down-shooter a nice 3D-ish look. I'm talking 'bout depth! Many thanks!

@Gigatron There is a very, very, VERY nasty bug in the plugin. If the cube texture is too dark/black - the canvas goes apeshit and plugin gets messed up. But its not visible in preview. You have to export the project to NodeKit. Even previewing in NodeKit will not uncover the bug, you have to export. Its present in both 32 and 64bit windows export.

I am in the middle of a very big project. And today, instead of adding new things to my game and expanding the game in general, I've spent EIGHT hours, full of frustration trial-and-error debugging, and over 70 NodeKit exports, trying to inspect this bug and find the source of it. So, yeah. Please appreciate my dedication.

Try to set Light Depth To 0;
It's working for me i see 4 black cube...
