Effect of Draw calls on performance

Hello everyone,
Could you please let me know whether the Draw calls affect performance? In my physics-based game draw calls in cpu utilization is showing above 23%, but physics simulation is below even 1%. Hence I think draw calls have greater impact on performance.

If so, can anybody kindly suggest me some tips to optimize it so that it can show better performance on iPhone??

It means you're using either loads of objects or loads of WebGL effects. All you can do to reduce the draw call time is reduce the objects or effects you use. Sometimes it's faster after exporting though.

I just upgraded to 155, and my game was dragging a lot. ....down to 8fps. Its a real time RPG with lots of objects. I noticed the Draw Calls was 90%. :-P I enabled WebGL, and poof! 50+ fps. Its running better than ever. (I don't remember why I had webGL off before).
