Enemy Spawners

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Sun Oct 23, 2011 2:44 am

Hello everyone,

I have downloaded the Space Blaster C2 file, and i wanted to try to make a horizontal scrolling space shooting game.

I followed the steps to make the Enemies Spawner, but i guess i failed, i tried hard to find what is wrong but unsuccessfully.

Could someone help me please? Here is a link to download the file.

Your file is unavailable.
For upload of small files like capx and such prefere uploading on dropbox, really.

Without the capx, not much can be done to help you at the moment.

Hello,

Thank's for your reply. But I want you to check my Construct2 file to tell me what is wrong with it ^^'

On dropbox i think i can only share the index.html link to my game, not a direct link to the folder so you can check the Construct2 file...

The megaupload link i shared works, i just tested it.

Thank you.

I still can't access it. It tells me the file is momentary unavailable.
On dropbox you can host the .capx (which is basicly a zip of the project) and any kind of file.
If what you uploaded is the exported project, we won't be able to see much, anyway. It is the capx (save as single file in C2) that you should upload.

I don't know how to give a direct link to download a file on dropbox if it's not a .html one.

Anyways, i have uploaded the .capx file on megaupload again.

Thank you.

Megaupload is still saying 'unavailable'.

Place the .capx in your Dropbox 'Public' folder then it will be available to everyone. You will then be able to post the link here.
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.

Giving the public link to a file is always done the same on dropbox.
Are you sure you've read the tutorial mentionned earlier ?

Anyway, this upload worked. I had to wait to download (megaupload...) but in the end it worked.

Ok so, when I toggle event 11 the condition "spawnerenemy.X >= scroller.X + 300", ennemis are spawned when the spawner goes to the left of the scroller object.
As expected I'd say.

It wasn't very logic anyway, you asked that enemies were spawned when the spawner is 300 pixel away from the scroller as well as when it is colliding with it (about the same X) at the same time.
Also, the "for each spawnerenemy" is not useful (even when you'll have multiple spawners created).

Also you would benefit of using a TiledBackground instead of a sprite in your layer0.
First thing would be to have a smaller background texture yet lengthen the layout/level at will.

I couldn't get the link on mozilla, i had to install the dropbox app then get the link from it ^^

Anyways, thank you.

So the problem is that i gave to the ennemies a wrong position to spawn at, right?

For the background, it's just temporary, i normally design the whole map on photoshop then i try export its .png file as light as possible.

Thank you guys.
