Error after uploading game to server

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:39 pm

@sqiddster, I just tried again and went view-source and it still has things like "<script data-djssrc=...". This is still invalid HTML. Have you modified it or is the server modifying it? Can you not just try the HTML file that Construct 2 exports without modifying it?

@Ashley, I did not modify the HTML script.

Here is the link from my dropbox before I send it to my friend.
If this HTML is different (and I think it is!), then we at least have a reason for the problem ;)

Thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedule to help!

@gndwestwd: it looks like you did not upload all the files. For example the game needs http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27999098/images/milkdrops1-default-000.png but this returns 404 not found. Did you upload the 'images' folder?

@sqiddster - right click and "view source" on both the one on your server and the one on DropBox. They have completely different HTML. If you did not modify it then something on the server must be automatically modifying it, and it breaks it. I'm afraid I can't help you further - you'll have to ask whoever runs your server, because it could be anything at all running on your server.

Of course. That's probably all we need to know.

Yes you were right, I forgot to upload the images files but still all i see is a white box. When I click the index.html on my desktop I can see the game running but I have a message like this: Note: browsers have very strict security limitations on pages viewed from disk. This means exported projects generally don't work when run from disk. Upload your project to a server, or just preview from inside Construct 2, to check it works.

Sorry, now I can see. I had to create an extra folder for images.

Thanks!

Well, we got it working.
The problem was a program called cloudflare changing the code.
