Export using Visual Studio 2017 issue

hey Ashley currently if i export and open using Visual Studio 2017 i get the error project is incompatible. Is there anywhere around this without having to install visual studio 2015.

Any help is appreciated

Did you get the correct Windows SDK version? IIRC if you get that wrong, VS2017 can't open it. It won't work in VS2015 either until you fix it.

Ashley sorry for the tardy reply but i'm using the latest sdk version ver. 10.0.15063.468 however i'm getting the project is incompatible with the current edition of visual studio (2017)

Normally the SDK version has a 0 at the end, try 10.0.15063.0 instead.

Ashley tried that same sdk version however the same issue. I ended up installing visual studio 2015 and it opened fine. weird though

Seeing this as well. Just in the process of downgrading to VS2015 to see if that helps.

AnD4D got it to work with 2015 only

I got around this by creating a new project in Visual Studio 2017:

New Project > JavaScript > Windows Universal > Blank App (Universal Windows)

Then export from C2 Windows Store - Windows 10, VS 2015.

Open the folder with the exported files.

Copy and paste everything from the export folder into the root of the new VS 2017 project EXCLUDING:

package.appxmanifest

the .jsproj file

the .sln file

Seems to run okay, although I didn't do any extensive testing.

AaronSmithUK Thanks, it worked and im able to run it on my desktop... but I want it to run in kiosk mode.... fullscreen, without any bars on top or bottom...

How can I do that.... Please reply

This used to work in VS2015, I havn't tested it in VS2017

To launch app in full screen, add this to top of c2runtime.js:

var ViewManagement = Windows.UI.ViewManagement;

var ApplicationViewWindowingMode = ViewManagement.ApplicationViewWindowingMode;

var ApplicationView = ViewManagement.ApplicationView;

ApplicationView.preferredLaunchWindowingMode = ApplicationViewWindowingMode.fullScreen;

I'm having the same problem. Tried 2017 and 2015. As well as changing the sdk number.

It does not work on Visual Studio 2017...

I followed AaronSmithUK tip and it worked!

I was able to make it work using the latest C2 stable version and Visual Studio 2015, but it got bad, the controls are lagged, the sound is not working.

Is there any recent tutorial on UWP with C2?

Does anyone get the error in VS2015 that says error hresult e_fail when trying to run the appx manifest file? If so does anyone have a fix for this?
