This is a single chapter from the Construct Starter Kit Collection and the Student Workbook from the Workshop.
  • Interesting, Fabric Engine provides almost compiled performance for JS in the browser.

I tried a few of the examples and it does seem to offer some benefits, although it does require a Add-on for the browser that weighs in at 12 MB. I don't know enough about the internal workings of CS2 to know if this could be of use or not.

Thought this may be interesting to a few people around here just the same <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • No chance we can use any add-ons. We make a big point of being plugin-free, and some platforms like iOS and future Windows 8 tablets do not allow plugins at all anyway. Besides, modern javascript engines are getting close to native performance anyway, so I think it's fine as it is!

  • Sounds like it might be a viable option, at least for server side stuff.

Then the fact that its a plug might actually fit in with security.

  • Hard to see how Fabric Engine would be of use to players of C2 games. Even if they're able to install a browser add-on, how many of them are going to go ahead with an installation that's likely to result in minimal benefits for their game-playing?

  • Depends on the game, say a mmo perhaps. Might be better suited to do with the edk.
