Fade Behavior Question

Post » Sat Apr 08, 2017 9:45 pm

Hi, I'm a brand new user so I'll apologize ahead of time for the basic questions I may be asking. :)

I'm using the Fade Behavior to remove actors from my game once they have been interacted with. Should I also use a Destroy to completely remove them from the game (I have no use for them once they fade away) or is that handled by the Fade Behavior already?

Thanks
Jamie

Hi Jamie.
The Fade behavior does have a Destroy property built-in. Just be sure to enable it in the Fade properties window. Otherwise, you would have to destroy the object manually with an event.

Construct 3 does not yet have a manual, but currently, most plugins and behaviors are the same as in Construct 2 so don't hesitate to check out Construct 2's manual for references about them. For example Fade behavior
Most of what is written in C2's manual carries on to C3.

You can use the common action "Destroy" to remove any instance (or the specifically picked instance) of a layout.

Just a note, you can use both ways to destroy the object from your layout. But if the object has the fade behaviour, just use it :)

Recently a bug caused the fade out destroy feature to not work but has already fixed.
