I have now the same problem with release 80.

In my case this what happens:
- Insert new object
- Tiled background
- cross mouse pointer to insert the object
- after clicked, the "Edit image: Tiled background" opens
- I do nothing, I simply click the [X] close button to exit, but the window stays opened and Construct is blocked.

- If I repeat this procedure and I try to add an image, the image appears in the edit window, but the window can't be closed and sometimes Construct crashes.

I have the same problem with R80. After inserting a tiled background image the editor refuses to close. It requires closing C2 via the task manager to close the program.

Same to me in R80. I just try it now and you're right, the editor never closes when I add a tiled background and then construct crashed! SamCartagenaPR2012-02-28 16:06:39

Confirmed on Windows XP SP3
Construct r80 release
Repro Steps:
1. New project
2. Insert New Object
3. Tiled Background
4. Exit edit image (loading an actual picture is not necessary)
Unhandled Win32 exception occurs.

Confirmed...!! I hope this can be fixed promptly... otherwise there is no way to add or edit a "Tiled Background" without C2 crashing.
