Just a quick little flamethrower effect I whipped up using little balls with physics and the plasma object:

Flamethrower effect

It doesn't use pixel-shaders but it's still pretty CPU/graphics intensive. Hope everybody likes it. :)

pretty neat but still a bit too transparent (in that you can see how it works and it doesn't really look like a flamethrower).

Not bad but I feel flamethrower effects are achieved better with particles of flame being fired, and rotating and growing. However...perhaps that plus the plasma object could create an interesting effect. I might give it a go brb

Thanks for the comments. I was more shooting for the effect of an actual flamethrower; that is, a burning stream of liquid, unlike the flamethrowers most people think of, which is basically a big fire coming out of a hose. :P

Looks great Link! This does look more like a "real" flame thrower, but even a real one still has an enlarging flame towards the end of the stream. If you added a scaler to the little ball objects it would be perfect IMO.

Nice work though, runs sweet!

Bleh, stupid IOJ. :( Unfortunately, I don't have the original CAP anymore, but I think I managed to remake it fairly accurately. Flamethrower effect.

That's pretty sweet! I could imagine a few uses for that effect..
