"Floating" character on death

Hey, I'm making a platformer and when my character dies she gains angel wings and the screen shakes. I take off platformer movement so the player cant continue playing while the screen shakes.

To the point: I want to make my character float up about 150 pixels (as if she was floating to heaven). I have studied my options for a while and just can't think of what I could do. I'm sure the work around will be simple but just can't think right now (C2 newbie).

You can use bullet. Store the starting position and stop it when it is 150 pixels less. Or, you can even set up a negative acceleration, and it will stop itself.
