Here's some more updates on the level editor: http://www.forestlegend.com/2014/08/mor ... ditor.html

Would embed a YouTube video here but can't figure out how... is it possible with this new forum?

Still actually not 100% sure on making the level editor available to the player yet though, I might just use it for myself in creating levels.

Why not? You clearly went the extra step by making it user friendly already.

@Katala
At this point I am pretty sure I am going to make it available for the player. When I said that before there were a few hurdles I wasn't sure if I'd be able to overcome but now I've got auto-tiling working pretty much exactly how I want it thanks to some good tips from the dev who created the AutoTileGen software.

So at least that is how I am proceeding with development--my first step is to finish and polish this level editor then I will work on creating my own levels (using my own level editor)

Very very very good, i would believe it was made by Nintendo if somebody said that. Gameplay style, smoothness and art is a masterpiece I'm very jealous I'm not involved in the developing. Good job.

I agree with you it does have that Nintendo/TurboGrafx-16 feel to it for sure, it reminds me of like Bonk, just not as bright haha.

@russpuppy I sort of felt bad for not visiting this post in a while but when I got here I was sure glad I waited. The amount of content you added is amazing. Your game is coming together so well and the updates are just great to watch roll in. Your level editor is so interesting to me, that could add a whole new dynamic to how games are created on Construct 2. After your game is finished, or what you think is finished, I would be interested to see a tutorial or a quick concept of how to set one up. On a side note of that have you thought of a story or anything yet?

Thanks @lonewolfe007

Check out this tutorial that someone recently did, it's similar to what I do for auto-tiling: https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/1128/a ... d-tilemaps

As far as the story goes that's still developing. Right now I'm just trying to build the framework of the game, with the map editor and world/map editor (working on the world/map editor right now, it's the screen where player travels between levels, should have update to show later this week)

also a new dev log entry this week: http://www.forestlegend.com/2014/08/her ... nster.html (monster brick)
