Here's a real secret - about a year or so ago there was an "assemblee" contest for indie game artists and designers - and all of the art was open for anyone to use for free games --- there is such a treasure trove of artwork here you'll be amazed:

There are sound ripping applications you can find on the internet - they grab whatever is going through your sound card. Consult your local laws for copyright issues.

The web site http://www.freesound.org/ has many free sounds. Those sound files are mainly licensed under creative-commons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons_licenses).

Also you may use Creative Commons search (http://search.creativecommons.org/ ) to search for images, videos and other media which you can use freely and legally.

So I downloaded the free bundle, and I have the paid bundle, do I need to place them in a specific directory?

@Swingarody: not really.
You place them where you want on your hard drive (unpacked is better).
Then you can browse them from C2 when you add sounds or sprites.
