my question is if the free version of Construct 2 is open source or only the Construct Classic

i ask this question because i am doing thesis about the topic of make a educational software via web to help a kid with attencion problems and my teacher who is my guide in the thesis told about use open source software and since a year i test many software and in the end i see construct is very usefull and easy to make games for kids but yesterday i was thinking this is really a open source or the other one the classic   <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

( sorry for my grammar i hope can understand me :S)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Construct Classic is the open source one.

Good luck with your thesis anyway, C2 sounds like a good tool for the kids anyway and if the issue is about pricing, schools and institutes "only" need the standard license (the cheapest).

  • Construct Classic is open source, but Construct 2 is not. You can see a lot of the javascript source for C2 in the install directory, but despite this it's not under an open source license (it cannot be copied or reused outside of C2), so does not fit the definition of "open source".

  • ok i got it ashley thanks for the answer

i go change all to classic XD i thinks is not hard because the UI look like construct 2 :D
