Game hazards/enemies

Hello, dear community,
I am currently developing a platformer game which is set in post-modern times. The main character is trapped in a futuristic, all white building and he has to escape. In breif : it is an abstract platformer.

So what i need is some ideas for weapons, hazards, mechanics,freinds and enemies. ( and powerups )

You may want to play through several platformers and get your inspiration from there. You probably won't get many answers and/or many useful answers asking on the web, as ideas you implement in your game have to relate closely to the whole system and universe you're building.

The old Dr Who episodes, movies, other games, all have plenty of different potential technologies & weapons you can use. The list is almost endless.

You asked, so you get:

* Rabid dogs that fire bees at you when they bark at you
* Ninjas that rope down from the ceiling with boxcutters in hand
* One of the big bosses could be Lance Armstrong trying to jab you with a steroid needle
* As for gameplay mechanic, have you played Fez before? You could be inside of the house and as you progress through you get this pseudo 2D/3D level spin effect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fez_(video_game)
