get key pressed?

For questions about using Classic.

is there a way to get the key pressed returned as a string? i hate having to make 26+(one for each letter) events to code a custom typing engine. i was thinking MouseAndKeyboard object could have an expression like "get key pressed" (if its possible, im not sure). If theres already a way of doing this, make my day!

Why not make it just one big edit box that you can type in? I dont know what you are trying to do but maybe that will work. Or maybe you can do a small edit box that the person types into then that letter gets written to whatever and then the edit box is cleared so it wont make multiple characters.

he wants it to know what character your pressing, edit box isnt good for that, it just recieves input, he wants to get input.

this should be implemented, so that typing can be easily made, and it has other uses too

(window's controls are also very ugly)

yeah another use would be to let the end user customize their controls.
