Post » Mon Dec 15, 2014 10:22 am

Hi :)
I used Cordova to deploy very simple new project on android, but I got very low graphics, can see with normal eyes when run it on device ^^

device: Samsung galaxy Note 3 (screen size: 1920, 1080)
Config:
Windows Size: 1920, 1080 --> 100% fit with device, no need to scale
Downscaling: High quality
high-DPI: Yes

Please see attachment!
Thank you very much!

These two options determine most of the final image quality:
Full-screen scaling: High Quality
Use high-DPI displays: Yes

You don't need Downscaling on High, default Medium is fine.

Does the problem still occur when publishing with Crosswalk? Android's browser or web view has many bugs that the Chromium-based Crosswalk doesn't have.

Thanks for your replies!
@Silverforce: It was set "Full-screen scaling: High Quality" as default settings.
@Ashley: I did not try it with Crosswalk. My team have been used PhoneGap + Phaser to deploy games. But now, my current task is try to run Construct 2 with PhoneGap.

Crosswalk will fix this problem 100%. And is far better then phonegap. But some clients reject the huge file sizes for small games.
It is really hard to let them believe that Construct2 is good to do those games, when you give them 20 mb of apk. Because the same game is 5 mb natively. So i use different engines for those clients that complain, because phonegap does not give bad scaling and touch problems with those engines. Would it be awesome if i used Construct2 for all my projects ? Definitely, but i know that Android 5.0 will fix those problems and file sizes will be normal again, and exporting with phonegap will be a default way for android. I hope Android 5.0 will enter the market hard and fast like ios updates.

I know it works just fine with Intel XDK Crosswalk with those settings, particular Fullscreen Scaling on High Quality, the image is crisp. I still have no experience with Phonegap, so others will have to chime in to help you.

Crosswalk adds ~13MB to your apk, it is a concern for some, definitely.
