Google Chrome Apps support for Android/iOS... SOON

http://thenextweb.com/google/2013/12/03/google-building-chrome-apps-support-android-ios-beta-release-coming-soon-january-2014/

Does that mean that Google is basically working on their "official" wrapper for Chrome Apps that allows them to run on Android and iOS? Would C2 benefit from exporting a project as a Chrome App, then wrapping it with Google's upcoming toolkit for Android/iOS?

This is exciting!

hmm. Well hopefully there work will be 100% rather than XDK and others which are focused only the DOM for applications.

However it's still probably about 1 year away before it's solid enough. This also seems to be a move on Google's part more to disturb Intel's efforts. I guess we will see.

It looks like a series of extensions to PhoneGap. So I don't think this will magically fix PhoneGap's performance problems, unless they really are shipping a whole version of Chromium with it.

I've read about this on engadget.
Also Chrome DevTools has been updated with more tools for mobile development:

@Ashley I was noticing the use of Apache Cordova. However using PhoneGap I didn't need NodJS before so who knows how this will turn out. I imagine that Google would invest more into better design.
