There is a huge success happend in China and the game is called "飞机大战" (airplane battle). All the assets are hand made sketch and it is the breakthrough of HTML5 games in China. This game is bundled in the biggest social app which is called "Wechat". Now this game became the classic of HTML5 games and probably should be addressed in HTML5 gaming history in China.

I personally think that pixel art is the best way to achieve an aesthetically pleasing 2d art style as tablet drawn sprites in higher resolution often look like poor attempts of 3D games. Pencil drawn games can look nice but overall give the same low quality aesthetic as high resolution sprites. Other art style can look good if they are defined and consistent such as black and white but pixel art is the surest way to achieve this.

I made a new game, it is totally hand drawn.

I like this rough art style.

"no pixel art used" :)

UPDATE: new items added. all hand drawn.. now, it is easier to make points.
