  • Just wandering if anyone has actually uploaded a construct 2 game to the apple app store, I've read all this stuff saying it works but a real example and link would be great.

  • To be honest i cant get anything to work right with mobile. I even bought a samsung galaxy s3, ipad3 and ipod touch to test. Cant get app mobi or anything to work on my devices.

    EDIT

actually I tried phonegap. the performance was a little iffy but at least it was running on my samsung galaxy s3.

It seems anything above 9.5mb -10mb wont be able to make it to mobile?

  • I compiled my HTML5 game to .ipa via cloud compiler, then i installed my game on iPod Touch 4 via iTunes, it works like a charm.

But i haven't uploaded my app on app store until the beta is finished.

  • Joannesalfa what did You use for making .ipa?

  • Joannesalfa what did You use for making .ipa?

Using appMobi to compile via cloud and cocoonJS compiled .xcodeproj which is required to use mac to compile .ipa

the biggest problem you need to pay $99 to get iOS developer program allows you to compile .ipa while you exchange the certificates.

  • So where does the mac-required restriction come, and how difficult were these obstacles?

  • you need a mac to compile the project files using xcode.

you will need to sign up for an apple developer account ($99) and sign your project with the developer keys

  • iOS is more restricted than any platform

There a service you can rent a mac in cloud

    www.macincloud.com

  • weird... this page is down, i've seen it before was active

  • I could search this elsewhere, but since it's right here..do you know if you can just use virtualbox and compile via xcode there, along with other necessary tasks. I registered as an iOS developer on my windows pc, but haven't paid anything yet.

  • yes you can use a virtualbox emulator, but you need a "special" version of mac osx. osx out of the box won't work on anything but a mac.

  • I'm aware of the licensing and stuff and thanks joannesalfa that's a useful site. So did you compile it to xcode via construct 2's cocoonjs on a mac?

Also how functional was it? Were the frames constant and high? Did you use music and sfx, how complex was it?

    What where the primary issues?

  • so basically, there is no way to compile to .ipa - even for testing only, without having developers account on apple?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    That's called OSX 86 Project
