Hosting for game

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Wed Aug 15, 2012 9:46 am

Hi. I have a ready game for KG and I would like to know something more about hosting services. As I understand many uses dropbox, but does dropbox free account is good? I saw there are 20gb daily maximum and if You hit more than that, then they just shut it off. Will 20 gb be enought for the game and how many then actually gameplays I can get with them?

Or should I better use some paid hosting?

Take you exported file size, and take 20gb and divide it by that.
That's how many people can download your game into their cache in a day.

By KG do you mean Kongregate?Rory2012-08-15 09:53:22

Yes, KG means Kongregate. As I am also flash game developer, we use it quite often.

So, that means that, if 20 gb = 20971520 kb and my game folder size is 311 kb, then there can be actually 20971520 / 311 = 67k players in a day?

Thats quite impressive.

Ah, cool cool.

Anyway, Good game! simple rules, but the distance the game takes place at makes it hard for me to make estimates on my movements.

Are you sure the bandwidth limit is that high? I thought it was lower. Hmm.
