How do I avoid tapping more than once a second

Greetings

I currently have the following problem: if I export my project to Windows Store and I put it on my phone, if I frenetically tap an object that has related events associated with the tap the game will freezes for more than 2 seconds, after which it will resume.

How can I add some sort of a counter to provide a workaround for this bug?

You could have a cool down variable that decreases by 1 every second (and stops at 0)

Then simply have your touch event have the condition of cool down being equal to 0, and the action itself setting the cool down variable to whatever value produces the best result (let's say 3)

Thank you, good idea :) however it still freezes up the WP8 app when I tap with 4-6 fingers and the tap counter reaches between 60 and 300 :(

I will report it as a bug.
