Hello Construct 2 Forums,

I am in quite a pickle with this issue of crossing layouts.

I have followed this on building a global user interface by using layouts on layers but for some reason it is stretching the image that I want to apply as well as it attaching to only the left side of the stage (Ref. 1).

I want the image to appear like Ref. 2 (like a dialogue box appears in games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night). I expect it's a simple answer, I'm just being silly.

An extra note: When this issue is solved, what I would intentionally like to do is when you press E on an NPC, this layout will show the text box dialogue image relating to that NPC, but I want that to pause the player and make them acknowledge what is being said on the screen.

you dont really need seperate layout for this as far as i understand you want to spawn a dialog sprite

i hope this is what you want very simple example ... .capx?dl=0
