I know there's a recipe for getting this to work but for some reason I cant seem to get it to work. I have a platform game that has something following the player that has a sound attached to it, and the further away from this object I want to audio to go quieter and if your to far away you wont hear the object at all, so how exactly do I make the audio have a hear radius?

Positioned audio needs a play at and a listener object..
Your listener object will most probably be your player sprite and you'll want the audio to play at the object..

more information is in the manual:

I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

Or, you can use an invisible sprite and check for collision.
