How do I have articulated lorry effect

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Jun 22, 2015 8:56 pm

Hi,
I'm building a tram control game where users will control the track and signals. I am currently making the first carriage set angle to the next way point and the second carriage is pinned to it. The first carriage is using the car behaviour.
How do I make it so the back carriage is more like a back carriage rather than being directly pinned, almost like an articulated lorry? I have attached a file and thank you for your help in advance. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/430 ... olink.capx
Thanks
Jacob

Would probably look a lot better if you used sprites or tiled backgrounds for the track and rotate the angle of the overlapping train and lorry towards the angle of the tiled background/sprite..
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

Thanks for getting back, I'm not sure I understand. I've tried getting the tram to follow the track but construct doesn't allow the sprite to follow the line.

It kinda does if the line is a line and not a picture of a line..
Creating the line with a tiled background could be a good option..

The problem with that would be that the junctions where the track slits are different colours and the tram knows which way to go based on this colour as it looks at the animation frame.

And the problem would be?
Adding the extra conditions?

Thanks for your help. I've ended up adding a car behaviour to both of them and it works pretty much how I wanted it to a large degree.

I meant something like in this example capx, but without the drawing part..

I like the idea of that, I'm going to investigate.
Thanks!
