How do I hide an object behind transparent wall?

Object in a red frame is fully transparent

If you put it over a black sprite, it's part also goes transparent and you can clearly see the background.

The idea would be to have a drag-and-dropabble glass, looking through which parts of sprites disappear (setting a sprites opacity to 0 on contact with the glass would not work at all)

Thanks in advance.

but..... it does not make sense! :D
if it's transparent you have to see what's behind otherwise is NOT transparent :!:

I suppose I should have been clearer *sigh*
I need the transparent object to overlap ALL other objects of it's layer and make the background (next layer after) visible.

Pls help

I have no idea what you really ask. But i guess that you have to explore the blend modes.
