How do I Hide Objects In The Layout Editor?

Sometimes I have many objects stacked on each other within on layer. How can I hide them just in the editor, so I can more easily click / manipulate the object underneath, without remaking everything into layers? Note: I am not asking about visibility inside the gameplay, just in the editor...

I fix this by: lets say i have a big background so I cant select anything, so I move it to another layer and "lock it" so any object from that layer cant be selected. You can also click the "eye" to toggle layer visibility. The problem is that you will have to move them to another layer, but I think its the only way to do this.

You can select object behind other object by holding TAB and clicking. Hope that it helps.
