How do I jump sustain?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Sat Jul 16, 2016 10:31 pm

Hi! I'm trying to use the jump sustain function in the platform behaviour, to make my player go higher or lower depending on how long his holding the jump button, but i can't see any difference when i change the values :(
There's some kind of tutorial on how to use it? Thanks! :)

Ps: Sorry if i said something wrong, it's not my main language.

I am sure you read in the manual "Maximum time in milliseconds that the jump strength is sustained at while the jump control is being held before the effect of gravity takes over." I read that one once myself too !.

The thing is that "jump control is being held". It only knows wich one the jump control is when you use default controls.

I suppose you dont ?
If using default controlls and setting the time to like 300 miliseconds, the effect cant be overseen.

If you dont use default things, you gots to code it all yourself.
One easy way is this:

Thanks for your fast answer, 99Instances2Go. It helped me to find the problem. The problem was that i was using "on key pressed" instead of "key is down", my bad. Thank you one more time :)
