How do I keep player from moving after game is loaded?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Tue Oct 14, 2014 7:48 pm

I'm currently using 8 directional movement for my player character, and I can auto save the game, and all that, which works great. However, when I load the save file, it's as though the save file that is loaded also saved the fact that the character was moving up, or down at the time that the game was saved. So when it's loaded, the player will move up or down, despite not having to interact with the keyboard or the controller. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

Whenver you're saving; you'll need to disable him, save, then enable him back.

Or not allow the game to save while character is moving, ie. bring them to a stop if you use trigger collisions checkpoints save or not allow them to save just anywhere.

I would think even if you disabled 8-way movement prior to save and they are say in the middle of a jump it would still save the jump.

Have certain checkpoints for saving. if player is overlapping a certain invisible sprite and not moving then allow save.
