How do I make a boss that spawns random enemies

Get help using Construct 2

I already have 5 random enemies they can spawn and I have an instance variable then I have "Every 2 seconds" "Set (Instance variable) random (1,5)
Then I have it so so that when the instance variable is equal to 1 that x enemy spawns
And when 2 dif. enemy spawns
And so on
For some reason I do not know why this is not working?
Any ideas?

Are you using floor() or int() on the random number to round it down? Because random() on it's own could give you a value like 2.235324636456.

Another way is to put all the enemies into a family and then "System: Create FamilyName" will create a random one.
