How do I make a grid-painting technique

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Dec 15, 2014 10:45 am

The technique is based on this game: http://splotchesgame.com/

Is it possible in Construct 2, do I have to use behaviors or events?

A way to beggin :

round(X_position/16)*16

this can round a position (mouse position ?) to a size (16x16)
Of course you can change it to

round(X_position/32)*32
to get 32x32 grid

Hope you understand :)

@armaldio - Thanks for the grid-snapping technique. Do you know the painting technique?

This is a little grid-painting technique demo I've done in Splotches:

P/S: About the red circle guide, it show that if you mix the color with a color that will produce a brown color, it will change into a "Brownsplosion". If you don't understand, try to play the game.

Do you look at the GIF I have attached? You may have to try that game.
http://splotchesgame.com/

The game is about using the paintbrush to paint splotches and mix certain colors to make an explosion in order to destroy the rainbow orb.

Tetriser I do not play games. Never have and never will. I am free lance programmer. I did not look at the GIF you have attached. I have provide you with little demo from this you can build your projects. To do that use keyboard or mouse to paste colour paint splotches. Make them certain colors and give them sprite Instance number and so on etc
