How do I make a simple search bar for drag and drop objects?

Get help using Construct 2

Hay all. How do I make a simple search bar for drag and drop objects/items? Can someone please some me how to do it. I need it for a new game I'm working on/

For example; the drag and drop objects would be set out in row and column 1A, 2B, 3C, etc., The search bar at the top should link the objects name (text) to the number and letter of each row and column.

Can someone please me with this?

Hey @guannstar!

I'm not sure if I get what you need... You want to be able to write the name of an object and return the column and row they are positioned at, is that it? Could you show a screenshot of your game?

Cheers!

Hey @brunopalermo. Yeah, that's exactly it. I want to be able to name the object, and return the column and row they are positioned at.

There are several ways to do that, depending on how your code was built. Would you share the capx?

@brunopalermo I would, but I can't show you a capx (I don't have one). That's the thing, I don't know how to do it. Can you share a simple capx with me lol? Or show me a tutorial?

@guannstar ,
You have over 600 posts and don't know what capx file is, seriously man?!
in Construct 2 click "File" menu, then select "Save project as single file" and it will save it as .capx file.

@dop2000 Obviously, that's not what I meant lol. I know what a capx is... I just don't know how to to perform the task at hand (a search bar for objects). @brunopalermo Can you still help me?

@guannstar , I was really confused by your post, though maybe there are several people using your account and one of them is a complete beginner. Sorry :)
