  • whilst I'm on another Layout?

    On Layout Start

    -play animation "A"

The animation does play, but when I switch to another Layout, or Camera Feed, the animation just stops. How do I make it continue even when I'm on another Layout??

  • Each layout is controlled by its own event sheet.. you will need to share the event sheet the animation event is with the others (right click event sheet to see options).

I think you can also set an event sheet to global now and it will be shared automatically...

  • Try Construct 3

No, I mean the animations plays whilst I'm on Layout A which is controlled by it's own event sheet

But when I click a button to take me to another Layout, the aniamtion itself (the animation in Layout A) freezes.

It's basically a timer going from 12 to 6 (0.016 fps), and I need the timer to still play (count to 6) while I'm currently switched to another Layout. I need the animation in Layout A to not freeze while I'm switched to Layout B, where I can't see the animation.

  • Is it just a visual timer or are you using it to keep time?

Without recording the current frame and starting animation from there on new layout I am not sure it can be done this way.

Not sure what your project entails and why your changing layouts so often, but have you considered using layers set to visible/invisible instead of layouts so the events continue in the current layout?

  • Also, have you tried giving the object with the animation the "persistent" behavior?

Ah, no, I haven't. Let me try.
