How do I make some events work for multiple layouts?

Get help using Construct 2

I need some events to work in other layouts of mine, so how do I accomplish that without copying them in every single layout?

Hey Robert.

Every layout has an event sheet attached to it. You can find it on the left hand side properties when you are looking at the active layout.

Set the linked event sheet to match your initial one and you are good to go.

You can also include Event sheets in existing ones.

So make one global event sheet (without layout) and include that in every event sheet you need it (like for functions or on start of layout)

  • System > On start of layout | system > load game from slot "brain"
  • System > On load failed | system > scroll to obj_Forum

In the left panel when you have a layout selected in your hierarchy it will give you an option to select an event sheet to use in a layout.

If you want to use more than one event sheet in a layout in the event editor right click and select "include event sheet".

It works sort-of like includes when using code. So you can have multiple event sheets running within one layout.
