How do I make the environment more performant...

Hi guys... I have a question.
what is more performant for the entire game if I am building the platform environment where the player jumps arround:
to make the platform from
1 ) tiled map
2 ) tiled background
3 ) normal sprites

Which option is the mest in ur opinion ?

Other question:
My player and enemies are arround 200*200 pixels with each 15-20 frames of animation... is that fine ...or too much ?
