How do I Manually Create Parallax Effect ?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Sun Oct 18, 2015 3:55 pm

For some reason, the Built-in Parallax is not fit for my game,
so I'm spending nearly a whole day trying to figure out how to create my own parallax effect,
but my math skill seems not to help me at all. So, guys please help.
Thank you

Above is the example project to collaborate with you guys.
I'm trying to apply the parallax to the Darker Blue Rectangle.

Could you explain what the "Built in Parallax" is doing and what it is you want to happen?

If we don't know why it is not fit for your game, it would be impossible to create something that would fit..
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

@LittleStain

Hi, yeah the Built-in Parallax is the Layer property that you can change in the editor from 0-100 to get the feeling of 3d space.
But what I want for my game is
1. I want to stop the parallax effect in my game at some point,
which is it can not be done with the built-in one
2. the variety of screen size might mess up my parallax design,
I want it to stay the at where I design it to be.
Thank you

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the question..
Your capx doesn't really show any parallax, so I'm not sure what it's supposed to do..

Why would "it" not stay where you design it to be?
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

@LittleStain
Lol, my capx doesn't have any parallax because, I don't know how to make it! that's why I'm here.
But you can enable these code to see my attempt,
Everytick > Family Set X to (50+scrollx)/2 or Everytick > Family Set Y to (50+scrolly)/2
If you re-enable those code you will see how my parallax code is broken
