add the physics behavior to a cube and let the gravity do the work for you. Once the cube gets to where you want it to stop just disable the gravity.

i never try or use physics behaviour

To me it just looks like a delay before the blocks move.
Like this:

The interesting bit is how the delay is staggered. In the example above it was don manually but you could set it with events.
