Go to "Store" and then "Your Downloads" on the left.
Mistakes were made.

thank you for the response! okay, so there is no "your downloads" option on my left. Also, here's the thing: i purchased the license before i created this account. Perhaps this account needs to be linked to the purchase? I have my paypal receipt but no sort of redeem code from construct 2.

Hm.. how did you purchase C2? Usually you would need to create an account to buy it from the web store I think.

Not sure how steam version works, but if you bought it from steam, I imagine if you install it through steam and run it through steam, it will be the full version. Just guessing though.
Mistakes were made.

Did you purchase from this site or via Steam?

If this site, then you would have needed an account before purchasing, so you will need to log in using that same account. Either way, you should have received a redeem code via email that you can enter in the store.

Once you have redeemed your purchase from the Scirra Store, you can download your Construct 2 license, which is a file called c2license.txt. You simply need to copy this folder in to either the install directory or My Documents. Restart Construct 2 and it should launch as the licensed version: the purchaser name should appear on the start page and About dialog, Free edition should disappear from the title bar, and the free edition limits should be removed. Alternatively, you can place your license file wherever you like and locate it by clicking Load license file in the About dialog.

As has already been stated: if you purchased via Steam, then you install via Steam - you do not get a license from here as well.

Have you checked your spam folder, just in case?

If nothing then send an email to [email protected] highlighting your issue and a Scirra employee will investigate for you.
