How do I put an outline on text?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Jun 30, 2014 11:33 am

In Photoshop, it's called "stroke".

I think adding a black outline to white text (or vice versa) makes text stand out a little but more, and gives it a more 'solid' feel and I've been trying to figure out how to do it in Construct 2 and it doesn't seem possible.

Thanks for any help. :-)

Is this possible in Construct?

Anyways

@ZetaCron My Tip: You can do that in Photoshop itself and export it as PNG. Matter of fact I have a design where couple of texts and sprites have this effect and I just did it in Photoshop itself. The output looks fine.

Perhaps you could do something with CSS shadows with the browser plugin. Otherwise read up on how to use sprite fonts.
My game Petrolhead Tactics is now on Steam Greenlight. I could not have done this without C2 ? Please rate, if you like!

Steam client already open: petrolheadtactics.com/steam

There is an Outline effect that may be what you are looking for. The effect can be found here: https://www.scirra.com/forum/effect-outline_t75574
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.
