How do I set the location of the mouse, not just the cursor?

My game features a large world and a small window. When I make a drastic change to the camera position, the screen drags a little bit because the cursor is 'left behind'.

I think if I was able to change the position of the mouse itself, I could smooth the transition. Is there a way to do that?

What are you calling the mouse that's not the cursor? because it sounds like you're trying to move my mouse out from under my hand.. If you can do that with code, that would freak me out! :o

And why is the cursor being left behind, anyway?
