How do I skew or distort a sprite?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 2:19 pm

I just want to know if there's a way to achieve this kind of transformation, even if I have to use plugins or effects, so I can create a 2.5D illusion for a project I've just started.

I don't want anyway to suggest that C2 goes 3D!

Thanks!

I think i depends of the view you want to use.
Is it top-down or viewed from the side like a sidescroller?
There is this Template from the Store:

Depends on the view and plugins you're using. However to achieve the effect you're asking I suppose I would use a textured Mesh.

Try using Google to search "2.5D" or "mode 7" and Construct2. You can't find samples with Scirra's search restrictions, but you can still find some via Google. There are many examples.

Hey, xxstyxx! The example is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!!!

I've managed to create the illusion of perspective change for trees following the idea of the link below, but not for objects with geometric shapes.

img0.liveinternet.ru/images/attach/c/5/3970/3970473_sprite198.swf

Here is my example using trees: drive.google.com/file/d/0BzcAb-FlmDJrd21GUjM2cGluNjg/view (click on the download button on the top of the page).

I'll buy the example so I can finally start creating the art for my games!

Thank you all, people!

You can also draw a distorted texture with the paster plugin:
plugin-span-class-posthilit-paster-span_p702369?#p702369

I've used it for 3d here:
