How do I stop little fps freezes/pauses I am getting

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Fri Oct 31, 2014 1:40 pm

Hi I'm new to construct 2 and only have a very simple game atm. it's just a platformer with wall jumping and the ability to grab edges.

When I go from one side of the screen to the other I'll get a dip in fps and a pause that disrupts gameplay, it happens when jumping around too.

I'll upload the capx. controls are WASD to move and space to jump. When holding an edge press space to climb up or down (S) and space to drop.

Its working smoothly here for me.

There's a bit of a hiccup when you snap/unsnap to the edges of boxes when you are holding onto them.

Not sure exactly what's causing that, but you could have the camera scroll to intentionally lag behind the player movement a bit more to help hide that.

No problems here, 59-60 fps at all times (on Chrome)

What you could be experiencing are documented frame drops in Chrome/Firefox (less so in IE) due to GC or other browser processes. Here's a link to the Jerkiness thread in case you've missed it. Short term problem which should get fixed by Google/Mozilla in due course.
A big fan of JavaScript.
